TAS and JIS started off the game with high spirits. The HS GYM was full of cheers from parents and students.
Taipei scored the first and second point. The game continues on as the Tigers maintain their lead with 5-1, in their favor. The first break was taken with Taipei still in the lead, 8-4. The game resumed with heightened enthusiasm from Jakarta as they attempted to bring the scores closer. However, their efforts were not enough: the first set drew to an end with a bleak outcome for the Dragons as they lose at 14-25. They started off the game with high hopes but the determination of the Tigers won over.
The second set began with high tension on the court. Determined not to lose again, JIS maximized their efforts while TAS strove to continue doing their best in order to secure victory.
The scores remained close throughout the set with both teams constantly being tied or having a one point lead over the other. The Tigers broke this when they scored a point, making the score 7-5. However, Jakarta recovered quickly and the first notable gap between scores was seen only when TAS reached 13 points while JIS remained atn 9. The gap continued to widen as the game progressed.
The Tigers won the second set in yet another landslide, 25-15. Nevertheless, the Dragons continued to fight on into the third set, which was full of tension and spirit. If the Tigers won, the game would end. Determined more than ever, the Dragons persevered and pushed forward. The scores continued to be very close. JIS finally pulled ahead with 20-16. Tension was high at the court and Taipei tried their best to win the third set. They managed to bring the scores closer as the cheers reached deafening levels at the gym. The third set ended with the Dragons claiming their first point against Taipei, 25-23.
The fourth set proved to be eventful as both teams kept on matching one another’s scores. The teams continued to race each other all the way up to 27. Ultimately, Jakarta won the fourth set at 29-27, which required the already tired athletes to endure the fifth and final set.
The fifth and final set began with intense pressure on both teams. As both teams had each won 2 sets against the other. The scores reached 14-14, and each team evidently stepped up their game.Finally, the game ended with 16-14, in favor of the mighty Tigers. Winning 3 sets out of 5, Taipei won the game against Jakarta. Despite their win, each team proved to be extremely capable on the court.
