Despite the fact the SAS versus JIS match was held late in the day— 4PM, well after the time school had ended— supporters for both schools filled the MS gym to watch their teams battle it out for the win. It was a match of intense action, hard hitting spikes, and shocking blocks.
The energy was palpable as both sides loudly cheered for their boys— a true demonstration of school spirit. Both teams’ supporters were amped up, and the gym was buzzing the sound of noise sticks, team cheers, and players hyping each other up for the big game. The Eagles have firmly established their prowess as sportspersons, and all schools are eyeing them up as competition. JIS has had some ups and downs throughout the day, and it was evident that this game was quintessential for them.
SAS has had a day filled with wins, and it was clear that their boys and their fans alike were fired up. They started off strong, winning the first and second sets alike, making the game look like a cakewalk. The JIS boys played strongly, showing excellent teamwork and synergy on the court. It was their fans, though, that really made the ambience of the gym light up with frequent shouts of their incredibly unique cheer “Naga naga naga! Oi oi oi!” JIS, without a doubt, excelled when it came to school spirit and support for their team.
SAS’ team captain, Reid T. (#3), certainly made his mark on the game, with smashes so strong that you could hear an audible smack on the court and gasps spreading through the crowd. SAS ultimately won, making it a very successful day for the Eagles.
It was an incredible match to watch! Good job to both of the teams!
