Congratulations to the JIS Dragons on their win this morning! Regardless of the results, both teams should be commended for their efforts in the hard-fought game.
The first half began #5 Santos, #13 Beck, #3 Lorenzana, #9 Hagedorn, #25 Radziszewics, #21 Ko, #8 Dyens, #7 Dyens, #11 Mizushima, and #6 Diaz representing ISM on the field and #4 Savelli, #14 Hendriks, #13 Osaki, #15 Feenstra, #5 Li, #3 Mamuaya, #7 Pedernal, #10 Sietsma, #19 Rohn, and #2 Winarno playing for JIS, with Stebelsky and Voutyritsas (ISM and JIS respectively) as goalkeepers.
In the first half, the Bearcats were unfortunately unable to score despite the numerous free kicks and score attempts; however, congratulations should undoubtedly be in order for Stebelsky for his spectacular saves and efforts throughout the game. Despite one goal being made against ISM, Stebelsky, the goalie of the ISM team showed amazing talent in the first half, with more than 5 incredible saves of on-target kicks and many more of off-target kicks.
The highlights of the first half include the dribbles of Osaki (#13 JIS) and Dyens (#8 ISM) dribbles, the numerous saves of Beck (#13 ISM) and Lorenzana (#3 ISM), countless through balls from Radziszewics (#25 ISM) and Dyens (#7 ISM), the incredible score attempt of Mizushima (#11 ISM), Dyens (#8 ISM), and Beck (#13 ISM) score attempt (ISM Bearcat)-- and of course, we can not forget Sietsma’s (#10 JIS) amazing goal.
The second half began #5 Santos, #13 Beck, #3 Lorenzana, #12 Worku, #19 Heo, #21 Ko, #8 Dyens, #7 Dyens, #11 Mizushima, and #6 Diaz on the field for ISM. The JIS coaches subbed many of their players in the beginning of the 2nd half and despite requests, did not give Bamboo Telegraph the names of the starting 10 players of the second half. The goalkeepers remained the same.
The second half started off with Beck from the ISM team kicking a through ball to Dyens (#8), who dribbled it and passed to Lorenzana (ISM Bearcat), leading to a spectacular score attempt. While Hendriks (#14) from JIS was able to intercept it, it was a good start for the ISM Bearcats.
No goals were scored in the second half, but similar to the first half, there were notable saves, through balls, and dribbling that overall contributed to a highly intense and competitive game. With both team’s tremendous efforts and determined playing, it is evident that the rest of the tournament will be remarkable. We wish both teams the best of luck for their upcoming games this afternoon and on Saturday. Good luck to all players!
