With fan bases supporting each team, the atmosphere was full of excitement as the Singapore Eagles battled with the Bangkok Panthers for the girls’ volleyball game. Even before the game, the enthusiastic atmosphere was seen through both teams as they hummed to songs while warming up. Throughout the game, the excitement built up immensely, creating a game where both the crowd and players were one.
The first set began with an intense play from both teams, with strong spikes left and right. Kanrayak T. of the ISB Panthers made most of the attacks with powerful hits on the ball. At the same time, the Singapore Eagle’s Maya J. and Mallory S. blocked the spikes at the front. They made hits that both went through and were sometimes received by the tough defense of Panthers. After a heavy battle of powerful spikes and critical saves, the Eagles claimed their score. The fiercely fought match saw both teams alternately ramping up points, ending in SAS winning the first set by 25 v 23.
The nail-biting battle continued into the second set. Led by Kanrayak T. of ISB, the Panthers defended their base against the Eagles. However, the Eagles continued with their streak of victory, widening the score gap to 20 v 9 points. As the game progressed, the Eagles gained confidence and their concentration on the game heightened, ultimately leading to the victory of the second set for the Eagles.
