Even before the first match started, it was clear from the interactions between the ISB and TAS teams that this was a game they were both determined to win. Each team displayed immense discipline and passion as they practiced for the fast-approaching game, collaborating with each other and keeping their cool on the court. There was also a strong aura of excitement in the bleachers as well, with the parents of the players cheering and waving their arms in support of their children.
In the first match, TAS came in the initial lead with a score of three points– against ISB who had only a single point, which would later become a noticeable trend throughout the entire game. Though TAS still remained far ahead, ISB did come close to surpassing them at some points, even tying twice with their opposition in just the first match. Nevertheless, TAS was able to win the opening match with a score of 25:16.
After the first break, TAS’ streak of fortune was broken, with ISB making a comeback by scoring seven points in the opening of the second match while TAS only scored three. However, before this could reach an unstoppable crescendo, TAS regained their lead, earning a total of 21 points while ISB only garnered 15. ISB also saw their communication skills falter at this point, which was even noticed by their own coach– a trend no doubt contributing to their seeming decline. The team did get lucky at certain moments in this match though, such as when a member of TAS made a faulty serve, which resulted in ISB being awarded a point and sparking outrage in the TAS side of the spectators. In the end, TAS won this match as well with a score of 25:18.
In the third match, TAS continued their winning streak, starting off with seven points more than ISB. The enthusiasm of the crowd also saw a boost during this time, especially among the TAS spectators, who were cheering louder and waving their flags harder than they had done before. Both teams continued to show their immense grit and passion during this match, though TAS seemed to stand out the most, coordinating their moves with an almost machinelike accuracy. This match also saw a number of fantastic serves from both teams, often coming off as clean and swift. The fact that TAS won this match was almost inevitable, coming in with a total score of 25 as they did previously while ISB came in with a score of only 16.
Despite their victory, TAS was incredibly well-mannered, and enjoyed the light of their success without gratuitously emphasizing it in the eyes of the other team. The crowd displayed immense spirit on both sides, clapping and shouting praise with intense fervor. The crowd commended all players, regardless of whether they had lost or won. Congratulations to both teams and to another great IASAS tournament!
