ISM vs JIS Girls: First Game of the day!
The first game of the day started off with a blast. Crowds were stacked upon the bleachers, each cheering for their own designated teams. The match promptly started at 8:45 on the MS field with ISM bearcats on home and JIS dragons playing on guests.
Tensions ran high as neither team scored a point in the first 45 minutes in the game – all despite countless close calls as each team successfully defended against the other. Strong communication from the dragons initially allowed the JIS girls to push into the bearcat’s side. However, ISM goalie Shain Poon fortunately blocked multiple balls over the course of the match. As the match progressed, communication between the ISM soccer girls greatly improved and the crowds could be heard cheering for good plays and strong pushes from Cameron M., Lexi S., Riho K., and Eve H.
However, the audience quickly realized that the ISM bearcats were playing against a tough opponent and the crowd continued to grow restless over mounting pressure imposed by the dragons. There were a number of notable plays from JIS players such as Nadine Z., Chiara H., Maia K., and Kyla W. Several bearcat close calls at scoring were successfully blocked by the JIS goalie
Charitra V. In what seemed like no time, the game reached halftime and lulled to a suspenseful stop. Both teams used the halftime wisely by receiving pep talks from their coaches, as crowds anxiously waited for the next match. Soon, the second match started with both bearcats and dragons clashing fiercely on the field. Finally, after countless close calls, ISM finally scored the first and only point in the match led by Ysabel A. Although both players were keenly engaged throughout the match, no other point was scored and the game ended with a score of 1-0, with the bearcats taking the win!
