With kickoff starting at 9:33 AM, ISKL and TAS began a close first half with energetic passes and defending. Despite the cloudy weather, spirits were high, and both ISKL and TAS parents showed their support through explosive bursts of cheers and chanting.
While both teams initially struggled to produce results in the first half, the first goal of the game was scored in the 20th minute by ISKL senior, Anna T.. This change quickly motivated the TAS Tigers, who responded with intense offensive plays. This led to them getting a penalty, which in turn led to TAS’ Syria A. scoring a goal in the 22nd minute of the game. The first half of the game ended in a 1-1 draw.
The pace in the second half of the game quickly changed, with both ISKL and TAS teams playing down the pitch with short, quick passes. While this change of pace created more opportunities for both sides, the match stayed at a 1-1 draw for most of the second half.
As the final 10 minutes approached, TAS players focused their efforts on offense, with much of the time spent on ISKL’s half of the pitch. This constantly creating scoring opportunities for the Tigers that were equally matched by ISKL’s strong defense. A cross from a TAS winger almost created an opportunity for the Tigers, but this scoring attempt was quickly stopped by ISKL’s agile goalkeeper. Despite both teams’ valiant efforts, the match ended in a 1-1 draw.
