GIRLs volleyball: sas vs. iskl
Enthusiastic chants and cheers began the game between SAS and ISKL’s girls volleyball teams. Both teams lost their first game (ISKL lost to ISM and SAS lost to TAS), and this left both teams determined to win, and ready for action. The first game began with a point to ISKL after a faulty serve, but SAS quickly redeemed themselves with their noticeable teamwork and communication. A dive by SAS’s Harper Wolf (#4) was one of many fantastic saves, and beautiful spikes, such as Katerina Guzman’s (#15 - ISKL) powerful hits, created an exciting game. By the first break, SAS had taken the lead with a score of 5 - 13. After that, ISKL made some incredible saves. One of the most memorable saves was Ziya Griffin’s (#12 from ISKL) great dive against Ariana Rossuck’s (#2 from SAS) strong hit. By the second break, the score was 7 - 16 for SAS. Towards the end of the game, the pace quickly sped up, with less rallies, and more powerful hits bringing the game to a close with a score of 14 - 24 for SAS, leaving them as the winners of the first set of the match, and leaving the audience in roaring applause.
The second set of the match started with both teams, along with the audience, stirring with hope and anxiety. Teamwork and communication led to some very impressive shots from both sides, and the crowd exploded into cheers at the amazing saves. ISKL proved to be gifted shooters, and with new-found determination, they were in the lead at 7 - 4 by the first break. Ziya (#12 from ISKL) was an especially strong defense, as well as a skilled shooter. ISKL’s ability to shoot well into space was slightly off-put by SAS’s quick defense and accurate dives. The rallies began to grow shorter, and the game started moving faster. Tensions rose as the score began evening out, until a wave of applause celebrated SAS overtaking ISKL, leaving the score at 11 - 16 by the second break. Throughout the match, Maya Johnson (#15 from SAS) proved to be a very strong hitter, and the second set of the match held many rallies, amazing saves from both teams, and some more beautiful spikes. By the end of the second set, SAS had confidently pulled ahead, ending the match with a win of 16 - 26 for SAS.
