The crowd was alive and buzzing with energy, and the stands were absolutely packed for the first boys volleyball game of the year. A Panther versus Panther match, truly a great way to kick off volleyball at the Super Triple IASAS. In fact, the bleachers quite literally shook with the enthusiasm and spirit for the contenders from ISB and ISKL as parents and peers beat their drums and showed their school pride.
Initially, during the first quarter of the game it appeared as though ISKL would dominate the court. The first set drawing to a close with them a full 6 points ahead, however, as the game progressed ISB soon made it very clear that they would not go down quietly. The tension was palpable as both teams hashed it out over the second and third sets of the game. ISB rushing in to take the upper hand in the third set after valiantly spiking, setting, and serving their way to victory over the second set with a score of 28 to 26. In the end, while ISKL may have won the game, demonstrating superior defense and excellent form most notably by Hugh and Giulio, it's clear that they had to work for it.
All in all, the panthers played outstandingly today, and we wish them well as both teams continue to duke it out with the rest of the IASAS schools over who will take home the gold.
